Even though 99 400r models were originally set for production only 37 were ever made. The rarest colour being BT2 'Champion Blue' of which only one was made....it sold for 70,000GBP a couple of years back I think. They produced 3 Nismo LM roadcars.....one of which is at Nismo in Japan. I would give my nutsack for a genuine 400r -

I obviously get a good deal then, didn't realise you guys paid more for them, if its any help my mate uses 19inch nankangs on his 32 GTR and reckons they're good enough (he also drives like a looney).

Hey guys, check out Toyo Proxes T1R, I use them on the GTR and my daily driver, they grip well in wet and dry, give a comfortable ride even with coil over suspension and seem to be lasting well. They tend to price alongside of Falkens. Have pushed them to the limit in the GTR, they are predictable and give good feedback.

Run out of money for more upgrades so am enjoying what I've done so far, hopefully I'm not the only one with a list as long as their arm of must haves?? -
Just did mine, 5 litres, make sure you get a syringe style pump to put it in as its real gloopy

GEARBOX SYNCHROS.......the 33 GTR seems to eat synchros, you probably won't notice it on a test drive as it only seems to occur once the gearbox is very hot (and believe me it gets fooking hot, girlfriend thought I kept leaving the heater on), the upside is that it heats your drafty garage You will likely notice the gears crunching from 3rd to 4th or 4th to 5th. There is a temporary fix which involves using Redline Heavy Shockproof gear oil but ultimatley you'd need to have the gearbox out and replace synchros (they're only a couple of hundred bucks but it's the labour that kills). Other than that watch out for fake V Spec's and very standard cars as they're sometimes ex raced ones that have had standard bits put back in. Don't let these things put you off though, I've had mine for 10 months now and I absolutely love it, it only cost as much to run as you want new shiny go faster bits!! I'm addicted to modification so spend all my expendable income on it....with no regrets

Remember when cleaning airflow meters with contact cleaner to hold the can an arms length (at least) away from the afm and spray (use a fine jet spray rather than atomiser), they are VERY easily damaged even by a liquid spray and can indeed run badly after too heavy handed cleaning. To dry use a compressor again at least arms length away. A friend of mine cleaned his too vigorously and had to replace one soon afterwards

Tyres you use(d) and how u would rate them
mammaryman replied to ZigenGT's topic in Suspension, braking and tyres
Ditto on the Toyo T1R's, I'm also using 255/40 R17 on my GTR, indeed they do seem to exagerate the HICAS but it's not too annoying, infact it's sometimes quite good to actually feel it rather than thinking the rear end of the car is just possesed. Dry performance is very good, i think if the car is putting out more than 450bhp though it's hard to find anything beyond having pre-warmed slicks on that won't spin up when you plant the loud pedal......especially on the NZ crappy roads!! Wet perfomance is pretty predictable (read good), no nasty moments so far, got all four fitted/aligned for NZD1000 so isn't bad for a performance tyre. -
Mine just moans about all the indecision involved.......should I get those mags, should I get a 10 row or 13 row oil cooler, what oil should I use this month etc......for some reason she doesn't understand the thinking out loud process....pfft women eh?
