  1. I have chassis 11 sitting in my shed at the moment. My father and I purchased this car a few years ago. Dale breed owned it at one point and we have all the history on the car. It's currently lightly modified with -7 turbos, and just a had a full engine rebuild. Car is fully registered and we use it at club events like mt alma hillclimb and mallala sprints. After all what's the point in having it if you can't enjoy it's performance.. It's silver in color and is in pretty good conditionfor it's age. Just resprayed it . The only annoying thing about this one is that the Ap brakes foul on standard wheels...
  2. Its also bumpy as all hell. I haven't raced there since 2006 is the surface improved or does it get a little gravely still.
  3. There are schools at mallala for drift. You don't really need the turbo to start off with. You need to make the car stiff and lock the diff and I would also suggest fitting a hydro handbrake. And get lots of tyres;)
  4. just got off the phone to bill stuckey regading this tyre crap.. He laughed quite laoudly at the utqg rating, sayin thatsome tyres dont even have it. The better way to rule would be list the known r spec tyres such as the advan a048, direzza, dj01, re55, proxes 888 etc and ban them from street class. and to have a minimum tread requirement of say 2.5mm. At a track like winton the new dunlop sport z1 with a utqg of 200 is 1 sec a lap slower than a dj01. by the same token those z1's on a heavy car like my clubsport are about 2 secs a lap faster than the factory potenza's with a treadwear of 140.
  5. It's looks like a hinge joint failure. Yokohama has a similar problem in the v8 brute ute class hence why they have little front end camber.. I've had this happen before at over 3.5 deg On an off note if you can afford new slicks why not a cheap pyro?its one of the most important setup tools in racing
  6. Yep about an hour ago.. That allows a proxes r1 in
  7. Those ultras are cool I have one being built at the moment for my 427 c5r engine.. I drove the first one too....
  8. tyres back to a treadwear of 120... wonder if that will change again....
  9. Street reg and street legal are two different things
  10. Used to have a c5 and r5 but now only kept the c4 .. It's too expensive to keep the international
  11. We went through this tyre stuff before in sa and basically had similar problems. Not only that there seems to be no restrictions on tyre size either... I did some testing for bridgestone at the release of the adrenaline and on an mx5 they were as fast as a re55 from a few years before. It really makes the tyre ruling very hard to policebut if there is a clear rule then obviously if chosen we can buy tyres to suit the class... After all no point in coming second;)
  12. Where did the tyre tread wear come from? I've just read the supp regs for the event and the tyre requirements for street class are very ambiguous. It doesn't mention anything except that street tyres are to be used in street class. So technically does that mean that a proxes 888 is legal? I want to compete at this event either in my gtr or if not I'll take one of my other cars(other forums) to it.
