  1. and here's my r33 series 2 1996. lowered on some kings, tinted glass,4x345 koyas, sony double din and sony xplod high power speakers.must add the dealer put some federal tyres on the wheels and had the courage to say they are middle range quality tyre, well they are ok but dont get em wet because at the slightest touch of the accellerater they really are all over the place so dont take your mum for a spin in the wet in federals...got to go 2/10.might get a set of maxxis next, and feel a bit safer about it. my r33 has been flawless in 3 .5 years....just an ultratune or so and a new battery and thats about all.actually a good investment!!!....but using it bit less now with fuel looking like its becoming a bit of an expensive option. cheers......from the mansion.
  2. good work folks...........!
  3. ye well i have a r33 series 2 gst....and yes its time soon for another oil and filter change.the oil you put in your car is important.and at the end of the day you get what you pay for.and guess what they never seem to throw out the good stuff on specials.like mobile1 0-40 w or motul 0-40w or the less liked catrol edge 0-40w all the good stuff in oils and about say 80 to 90 bucks for 5litres. yes the mobil1 is good am using it now.lasts longer, i found and doesnt soot up and thin as early.i have mobile1 5-50w and will switch to the mobil1 0-40w for increased performance and fuel economy.so there you go i am even spending for a 0-40w performance iol in my r33 which will only be mainly for cruising and street use.
  4. ye its terrible when something like that happens.at least you were careful etc.it is usual to retap a thread but get someone good to do it so you get a good thread.it might leave some debris in engine from retap so perhaps consider that.dont know what caused it to thread.probably just a bit of wear and tear.i think some times the plugs may vary a bit and it is very unfortunate.

    A Duck

ducks are harmless.......and deserve respect. i am not going to bark at some old duck. quack.
  6. i am involved in medical imaging for state government on gold coast.that means i have to xray people and run tests for those of us who have bad accidents and get damaged.i dont often drive to work but do drive oncall, and its cool causewhen im late cause i like to have a bit of a blast to relax on the job.
  7. if they had to rethread the sump, they should have kept car till ordered plug part was available.............with legal issues these days they are asking to be taken on for a legal debackle.....and so they should be.
  8. ok buddy so what was the verdict?why did these cockheads stick a ngk in ya sump hole.do they want to damage your gtr ,or even total it or maybe you?you got any enemies around there?you could have sued the dudes. after reading this i feel it is a joke?........are you serious?.......i would ask for some reimbursement or potentially seek some legal action if your serious.it is an expensive exercise to treat a vehicle in this way.
  9. thats pretty bad, unprofessional etc.it could also cause damage or burr the existing thread.i think they plugged it and forgot about it.they must have original nut somewhere.considering you are a valued customer there,i am sure its not from the management side of things.probably some new mechanic cutting a few corners.just go and have a good whinge there, and sob a bit.they will appologise and probably roll someones head. its not on though and you should let them know that.
  10. ye man i got some koyas since a couple years ago.the compliancer in brisbane got them wholesale for me.are 17' s at 4x235 cm tyres.had no trouble getting a tyre fit etc.koyas are quite common and have quite a wide range of product in mid price range depending what you get.these are 4 stud but covered with a hub and elim screw so cant notice they are not 5 stud.general they have some good wheels.i would reccommed for the price.
  11. got just some 17 inch koyas with 4x 235 tyres.looks acceptable.there is no comparison to the ride.much improved.sporty feel and lower to the road.
  12. i just got a gts series 2 r33.chopped from factory springs to standard low kings springs for under 500 bucks.think they last forever.the shocks wear out.kings are great, money well spent.can get em in standard low and super low.my r33 sits just above the curb on the standard low.pretty happy wit dat. with kings and factory shocks my cause wear.they dont reccomend it.may need to update to performance shocks after a couple years or so depending on drive and car weight.dont overload car at anytime basically. factory shocks and springs supplied by nissan on r33's dont do car the justice.it would have to be one of the first modifications ever considered.
  13. if you dont maintain the coolant it eventually turns light green then can get fowled and get sludge in it and brown a bit.its important to flush that radiator if its dirty and replace new coolant mix.leak might be just a hose etc or a join.so gotta get there an see where water is going from, new pump will mean replacing it.better sort it sooner than later.
  14. welcome aboard............i have learned some good stuff from some of the forums. good luck.
  15. i dont know why you replaced the water pump and timing belt if not sure?get belt checked?..thas most a grand there.if water pump not leaking leave it.your other repairs were maintenance.the bushes wear and replace em.new wheel alignment is ok.its running rough?well get it checked over properly by a trusted mechanic or get 2 or 3 opinions.it may just need some tlc and a bit of work.find out the bottom line on the car.repairing and bumper spray is not a big option especially if they can just match and blend it{paint}.......otherwise you will be car hunting again which is also a lotta work plus you got to try and make this one a respectable sale an thats a hastle. i had a r33 gts for 3 yrs an not one repair at around 100 000 km's....was a direct import.and always go grade 4 ratings at auction not below or dont get a cheap repair{damaged vehicle}....you can trust that rating usually{4}.and go low mileage as possible.plenty of bargains if careful.you just got to time selling and buying.both need time.sounds like your existing car has been not looked after in a while considering all those repairs came up at same time.so it dont necessarily mean its time to partially repair it and pass it off to some novice.it may just need to be updated and tuned etc.....these cars dont tend to fall apart.if you like it keep it. simple....
