  1. Good idea! I guess on that note, I could probably ring Lance Dixon and see if they've got any old ceramic rotors laying about ! I guess I just though a Nissan forum would be easier as the 458 has a 5x114.3 PCD - which is pretty unusual for a fazza.
  2. Hi guys, I'm building a coffee table with a 20x12 Ferrari 458 wheel. I want to bolt a brake rotor to it for visual effect. So hoping someone has an old disc laying around they don't need and would be happy to donate to the cause. Doesn't matter if it's warped, lipped, rusted etc....I'm just going to paint it and bolt it to the wheel. It's a 20" wheel so the larger the better, slotted, drilled, or two piece floating rotor would be ideal! Preferably for pick up around Melbourne. Cheers Mat

  4. Hi guys, Bought these for a previous car, but never got around to using them. Hung on to them knowing how rare they are but got a European car now so probably never going to be any use to me any time soon. They are a very cool anti theft lock nut system. I had a hard time tracking a set of these down, and eventually purchased them from Nengun for approx $200. They have since stopped making them so consider them rare. They work like a normal lock nut, but with quite a unique shape pattern. Nonetheless, like any lock nut, a committed thief can still smash a smaller sized socket over it and wind the nut off. So to prevent that these have a special cap that sits over the lock nut which can only be remove by a special magnet key. Like anything, deterrence is the key, and while I reckon any lock nuts are removable with enough time and motivation, the ill seriously slow someone down. They are in as new condition in original packaging. Asking $150 posted anywhere in Oz or pick up available in Armadale Vic 3143 Here is a video explaining how they work http://youtu.be/aoFde55P7Uk
  5. I've had success on the inner barrels using a scotch pad an lightly rubbing with warm water and dish soap. It will leave some light abrasions by makes it look like a brushed finish which is better than stains IMHO!
  6. Eg. This was from a the seats of a 2009 model car.
  7. Hire a steam cleaner from woolworths. Have done this every time I have bought a new (used) car. It will blow your mind how much dirt comes out of even a 3 year old car.
  8. Did you happen to get a comp test done while you were there?
  9. I wouldn't stress on that too much. Faded red paint is a throwback to the early 90s and single stage paint systems. Similarly with km's - with any grey import unless you can site deregistration papers it's safer to assume its been wound back. Go by condition of the leather bolsters, steering wheel etc for a more accurate idea of mileage. A red car with some paint correction and regular maintenance looks amazing!
  10. There is a nice red one in the classifieds with leather and sunroof. I would suggest buying one of the rarer colours - there are far far too many silver ones on the market. Come resale time, a unique colour will present a better sales proposition.
  11. More pics would be great, and if possible, some in natural direct light to better see colour/condition. Suburb?
  12. RWC? KM's on turbos? Bayside Blue? When was the respray done? Looks like door jams were done - also boot? engine bay? Engine bay pics? Cheers
