I am still a noob so I'm soaking up all this information like a sponge! So should I be shooting on manual focus? I will definitely go back and try again with an aperture of 8 or so. Brendan.

Hi Jay, thanks for the feedback. I actually shot this using a remote and was standing about 1.5m away from the camera at the time of shooting. As for the focusing I can see what you mean as it does look out of focus a touch. Mind you the boats on the water are crystal clear when I zoom in on them, no motion blur that I can see. It was windy at the time so maybe that affected the shot. Once again thanks for your feedback, Brendan.
