  1. Wow i haven't posted in here since like probably 2014, how is everyone? I definitely remember this place being very active daily, seems like everyone has aged and moved on haha. Does anyone still own their skyline from back then, or perhaps own a different one? Or even own the same car from back then? Also, does anyone know what those big black circular cameras that have popped up recently on basically every set of traffic lights are? I've heard people mention they are just for monitoring traffic, some say they are those new cameras that can detect if you are using a mobile phone device.
  2. Thanks for the response, i like the sound of modifying it for better response, what does that include exactly? Also would you suggest the 3082r in .63 or .82? I'd like it closer to 300rwkw or around there, on p98 and not a complete lag machine.
  3. You don't think it will be a complete lag machine? Im not too worried about it being abit laggy driving around the street, i just dont want it holding me back when im exiting corners around sandown/winton. Then theres the question of gt3082r with .63 or .82 hmmm.
  4. So i am currently running the stock turbo and in the process of upgrading turbos. I've had a spare garrett gt3082r sitting around i was thinking of installing, bit unsure how laggy it will be, so i was also thinking of going the atr43g3sat or similar. I couldn't find much info comparing the 2 turbos, which is why i decided to make this topic, but basically I'd ideally like 300rwkw on p98 or as close as possible, without being a complete lag machine. The car is driven once on a weekend and mainly used for track work at winton and sandown. I don't know much about turbos but the gt3082r is running a .82 and externally gated, could go .63 but not sure. I was thinking maybe atr43g3sat with a .82 external also, well whatever you guys recommend really.
  5. I like that idea, i reckon ill put it at the front of the bar, drivers side, paint the oil cooler black, as its a shiny light blue and sticks out like dogs balls, put some mesh in front of it to help protect it also. Thanks for that idea.
  6. Ok that makes me more abit more confident now. I can get about 4 laps before it reaches 130c, so maybe ill push it all the way to 130c and then back off let it cool back down to 100c. Also i was suggested to maybe put a thermo fan on the oil cooler itself, do you guys think that is a viable option? Id ideally like to move the oil cooler somewhere near the front bar, but id want to keep it as hidden as possible/stealth, theres heaps of room at the front drivers side, but i was thinking maybe where the stock intercooler sits, as its got those air holes on the bumper so air gets in nicely.
  7. I hope you are right. I was thinking maybe because its got a koyorad radiator, its keeping the coolant temps at a stable level, but the oil cooler, because of the spot its in, cant get enough cold air directly to it, so its coping heat from the radiator and intercooler, making it not as efficient as it should be? Like i said, it only happens around the race track, everyday driving with a squirt here and there, the oil temp never goes past 80-85c
  8. Yeah i was thinking the spot I've put it now is no good, but its where the instructions told me to mount it. I am using the factory oil temp gauge, it seems to be accurate. As for water temps, i am using the standard gauge in the speedo/cluster, it sits at halfway, have never seen it move even slightly a above half. Engine is not red hot or smoking when i stop. Where do you guys think i should move the oil cooler to? I was thinking maybe where the factory intercooler sits? Which is on the passenger side of the bumper.
  9. Yes the thermostat is hooked up correctly. The oil cooler is situated behind my blitz intercooler and in front of my radiator.
  10. So 2 years ago i took my stock r34 to winton, reached oil temps of 130c using 10w 40. I ended up buying a greddy oil cooler with thermostat. Took the car around sandown on a 30c sunny day, oil reaches 120c after about 3 hot laps, using 10w 40 penrite full synthetic. The oil cooler has helped alot, but i think i am still running too hot, I'd like to atleast get in 4-5 laps before the oil reaches 120c. I should mention it has a koyorad radiator, and a greddy oil cooler. Oil temps are perfectly fine when driving around normally, usually sit around 80-85c, its only when i am racing around the track when i experience these high temps. What could i do to keep the temps down for longer? Thanks.
  11. Yeah i think i might have to give that a go. Also not sure if this important or not, but the oil filter the car used to use before the oil cooler install, was a fairly bulky one, which is the standard one for the s1 r34s. When i installed the oil cooler and sandwich plate, the sandwich plate wouldn't fit the stock s1 oil filter as it was too large, so i had to use the smaller one from the series 2 r34s. I don't know if this would cause a random drop in pressure but thought i might aswell bring it up.
  12. So i have a 98 r34 gt-t, recently fit in an greddy oil cooler with a built in thermostat sandwich plate. When you start the car when complety cold, the factory oil pressure guage reads correctly, about 4-5 bar at idle. When the oil gets to proper temp the pressure then sits on 2 bars at idle, will go to 3 bars when at 2,000rpm, and 4 bars when at 3,000rpm. If i were to turn the car off, and then start it again, the oil pressure will now read about 1-1.5 bars, 2 bars at 2,000rpm and 3 bars at 4,000rpm. Sometimes the needle will jump up and down and then revert back to reading 2 bars at idle, sometimes it doesnt. Today it was reading correctly, drove it for an hour, guage was reading 2 bars turned it off and started it, guage read about 1.7-1.9 bar, after about 15 or so mins or driving, while sitting at about 3 bars of pressure, i saw the needle drop back down to 1.9bars, i was in 5th gear doing 80kph, about 2,000rpm or so. At idle it would now sit at about 1 - 1.5 bar. I dont get it, is this normal? Is my oil pressure guage faulty? Is the oil cooler and or sandwich plate somehow affecting my oil pressure readings? Also my stock boost guage sometimes completly stops reading and then will randomly go back to reading, so i am hoping its got something to do with faulty guages and not engine related. Any help appreciated thank you!
  13. Hey guys, so i took my r34 gt-t around winton, was seeing oil temps of up to 130c, so i need an oil cooler. I was planning on putting the oil cooler either where the factory intercooler sits or under the driver side light. Is this possible to do with the 13 core oil cooler recommended for the r34 gt-t or will i have to purchase the 10 core oil cooler recommended for the r34 gtr? I'm not exactly a fan of sandwhiching it inbetween the my intercooler and radiator, i feel like i wont see the full benefits of the cooling and theres not much space, might struggle to fit it there. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  14. Hello, up for sale is my used x force high flow cat. In good condition and works perfectly. Purchased 2 years ago (receipts as proof if required). Will bolt up to pretty much most 3 inch exhaust systems including the stock exhaust. Comes with gasket Price is $99 Pick up Dandenong North Call or text me on 0433039834 anytime!
  15. Sorry yes i did mean the ATR45SAT. From what I've read and seen, it looks to be quite impressive! I will be trying to aim for 300rwkw, or get as close to it as possible. I plan on trying to keep a stock look, so i definitely love the fact that this turbo should bolt to the stock manifold. Just need to find an ecu that will not set off the traction control lights, looks like nistune might be the way to go! Your turbo kits make impressive numbers on the dyno, i am impressed
