Feel free to check out my blog @ www.v35skyline.com for plenty of useful information regarding this...

In particular what you should be asking to see the following paperwork:

  • Japanese Export Certificate (very important!)
  • Tier 2 Identity Inspection Certificate (important)
  • Vehicle Import Approval (important)
  • Compliance Workshop Invoice (important)
  • Shipping & Customs Invoice (if available)
  • Auction Sheet (if available)

If your seller had all of that paperwork they would be #1 Super Organised and #2 Genuine!

Being a R32 it depends what scheme the car was originally brought in under. If it was brought in under the 15 year rule then it won't have an invoice for "compliance" maybe one for the original engineers certificate thats needed for road reg. The import approval document will come in handy for 15 year old rule cars if the car is moved from state to state.

Ask for all papers for the car. Like above, if the seller has genuine papers, they'll be organised ;)

I like this :)

Agreed, good point...
