Hello all,

my 1994 R32 GTR VSpec2 came with a bizarre head unit which was silver/bronze in colour (not matching the rest of the interior) and which features a 'micro disk player'

Upon removal, it had a Nissan sticker on it (no other brand name visible)

Has anyone ever come across a unit like this and was it an original equipment option ??

Just wondering

Cheers

If it's the one I think it should be a cd and md unit in a DIN chassis . Common in the cube.

Yup - that's it.......

Do you know whether it was ever 'stock' on an R32 ??

Nope. Think about the era. MD wasn't around until 2001. That's were I commonly find them.

Ah - ofcourse.......sometimes I forget how old the R32 is ;-)

Thanks for your help Chris :-)

Cheers

  • 2 weeks later...

I had a Kenwood CD/MD unit fitted to my R33 when I bought it in 2008, it was double din, had a tilt-out front panel that powered out to the preferred angle when switched on and tilted down to allow insertion of cd/md. It also had a myriad of lighting modes and dancing equaliser bars, not a bad unit and I would have kept it if I could have played mp3's.

Later upgraded to a single DIN Sony CD unit with aux socket, mp3 and bluetooth, overall much better and most of the time I just play music via the bluetooth. I also fitted an 4 channel amp and better speakers.

The Kendwood was cool though, I ended up selling on E-bay to a guy who wanted the JDM look.
