Guilt-toy In Georgia (former Soviet Union)

for me it was never about the money, it was just about getting the experience playing with these hardcore setup's..

I was lucky that i found a guy who saw something in me and invested in me, he put me in some really expensive machines straight up, knowing full well that if i blew them up he might have had to pay for them. I never actually blew up a car where it was my fault and I ended up getting experience with all kinds of cars that would have been impossible to get back home.

Z06 vettes, new Camaro's, Dodge's finest SRT8's in stroked / supercharged / twin turbo setup's... then comes all the motec's and autronics... even trying to get every last hp with NA 6 cyl's with motec's etc etc... it has all just been a huge learning curve for me and that is worth more then any salary imo.

to be honest its really hard to make decent coin if you have got no reputation to back you up, the UAE is a cut throat country and no one will let you touch their cars if you are not a well known tuner with a good reputation. only reason why i was able to get into it was because of my sponsor who has really big pull in this country, he has been building cars for a long time and is very well known and he put his neck on the line for me.

I still had enough cash to get by, a couple of cars etc etc... only issue i had was my health.. been really sick... just spent 3 weeks in hospital since i have been back and i am recovering now slowly. (i dont like to talk much about these issues)

im gathering more pics and have a few more stories to tell, i am waiting for my new visa to be done and when i am well enough i should be going back, we have a massive new workshop now.

Guess who's back??!!

Had my car tuned by Anthony a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier. The car runs like a dream and has never been as well behaved as it did after Anthony had a play. Well behaved stops at anything past 20% throttle though as Anthony managed a stout 295rwkw from my SR on 98 with the GTX3071R.

Anthony was also the most straight up person I have ever worked with in this sort of environment who took on my feedback and suggestions as we wen't along. Anything we were unsure about was discussed and all alternatives were considered. I couldn't ask for better service!!

Anyone wanting a GREAT tune should go the distance and see Anthony at Guilt toy racing development. I totally recommend.

just want to say hi to everyone... been enjoying being back, and not enjoying it at the same time....

I have been away since 2009 and really had no idea that things would change sooo much...

I bought a car that I used to own before getting into Skylines back in 2002, and i have only beein driving it on weekends or on special occations.

This old datsun really meant alot to me back then, the guy i sold it to in 2002 kept it for a little while then sold it to mate, then he spent a heck load of cash on it, he even re-shelled it because the old shell repair was going to cost sooo much...

It is a 180B SSS Coupe. its a 73 model, the last of the imports so it had the cool dash and the cool front blinker lights that dont take up the whole front of the car.....

When i got this car i really loved it, but for some reason i always dreamed of being able to afford and buy a Skyline, thats all i wanted.... but every time i jump in this datsun it makes me realise that I had the coolest and fastest little road beast and that the 20 year old me would frown at me today in disbelief that i would turn to a newer style car....

But it had to be done! haaha... anyway this is my coupe. the car I seriously regretted selling every day after i sold it.

See you guys at Datsun Day Sydney!!! i hope :)

Here it is today....

I took the GTR up from Sydney to see Anthony today

I pulled the boost restrictor 2 weeks ago and had issues with minor stuttering between gears and just running slightly off. (turns out it was lean as fck!)

I went for a chip tune which is just a modified standard ecu to allow non-standard EEPROM chip. (I'll get Guilt Toy to explain this in english)

We found on the standard ECU with boost at 17psi it was running AFR's in the ~12.5:1 region with Timing at 27 degrees!! that's E85 timing! I'm surprised the engine & turbos lasted 2 weeks like that.

anyway with a proper tune we finished up at 270rwkw

post-113447-0-01728200-1425630960_thumb.jpg

Overall the car feels a hell of a lot faster to drive. faster in between gears and more powerful throughout the rev range even though we didn't add any boost.

A tune with anthony is worth the drive from Sydney. Thanks again man, Can't wait to hit up wakefield!

Hey mate... i have tuned literally a thousand TB48de patrols, ones NA with 200hp and ones full turbo with over 1000hp.... the most powerfull one i tuned was about 1233hp or something....

if you want to see a video or 2, check out my facebook or my youtube.... but here is one...

https://www.facebook.com/tunedbyanthony/videos/vb.369080323188467/391536637609502/?type=2&theater

if that dont work add me to facebook, www.facebook.com/tunedbyanthony and there are some on there.

I do not know anyone in Melb who can do them, but they are just a RB25 on steroids, they even have the same RB25 skyline VCT cam system on them... so anyone with half an idea will be able to wire one and tune it.

message me on facebook if you have any questions

Hey guys,

I been up to the usual Guilt-Toy stuff again,  for the last 8 years I been tuning back home in Newcastle,  but it was time for another mission.

So back to Georgia I go,  when i was there in 2019 there was a R32 GTR at Guricha's place and it was in a pretty sorry state,  18 months later I made a offer on it and the owner accepted.

This car is known to me,  in 2010 Dato who imported the car to Georgia from Japan brought this car to us and we put it on the dyno for a health check and it spun a bearing.  After a lot of advice the car was built and I tuned it before I left in late 2010 before I went to the UAE.

The car sat at Guricha's place since around 2015,  and it was rotting away,  so I was able to snap it up for a half decent price.

I flew to Georgia 2 months ago to get everything ready and put the car in a shipping container and send it back home,  so here we go again!

This is my 1993 R32 GTR,  so stoked I have been able to snap one up,  and more stoked that it was the GTR I loved so much back in the day.

So why not get the car restored to its former glory while im there?

The car was sent to a new Paint shop there,  and they done a really good job,  full respray including engine bay.

Now I am sitting at Hard Rock cafe at Dubai air port, having a few JD's about ready to board my plane to go back home,  what a mission this was,  but I would not have it any other way.

I am pretty sure I will just keep this as a street GTR without too much power,  I still got the series 2 R33 RB30 GTS4 so this one will be a mild car,  I decided not to touch the motor in Tbilisi Georgia,  I will do everything back at home.

Cheers SAU,  appreciate the sticky on my posts and will keep you all updated on when the car arrives like the previous times :)

Wow, what a journey!  She looks nice after the paint job, nice and white again!  I'm sure it will be pretty amazing to see it roll out of the container back in Oz!

What took you to Georgia in the first place?  Not a country I know a lot about really.

    • I think the pic in the first post is another car, and post 7 is OP's car with standard arms and swaybar swaybar swaybar. I can't tell what brand the silver coilovers are, and even if I could I don't know whether the spring rate is OK, if you can find a brand on the shocks and numbers on the springs that might help. Also, if you can measure the ride height from centre of your wheel to the guard that will help with advice too as handling suffers if ride height is too low
    • sadly, pics no work. that car must have spent a lot of time in a cryo bubble
    • In the first photo you posted, the colour of the control arms are the signature colour for Ikeya. Same for the swaybar, signature colour for Whiteline.  I like Hardrace, they also do hardened rubber bushes if your car is mainly a street car.  I like GKTech as well, but they use a lot of rose joints in their stuff so might not be the best choice for everyone.  The system might have been good back in its day, but it's a prehistoric system now. I suspect that most people have removed the HICAS as they want the car to do what they want to do, not what the car wants to do. From what I also understand, it isn't consistent in it's behaviour on track so it's hard to trust the car/know where its absolute limits are for track use.  Having said that, I think the HICAS eliminator kit was the first thing I installed when I bought my car. I don't personally have any experience with the HICAS system on a race track.
    • Thanks for the info. Didn’t know I had aftermarket control arms already? Will talk to my garage. What brand would u recommend if I want to play around with my camber more? I would think my camber is around stock level right now or more negative now due to lowering with coilovers. I will be lower her again 1.5 cm to get some more.    also why does everyone like to remove the hicas system? Is it because most don’t work properly anymore or ppl just don’t like them. Mine is functioning as it should be right now.    thanks for the good info
    • It looks like you've got Ikeya control arms and an aftermarket sway bar, maybe whiteline?  Or am I just going crazy? lol Unfortunately it won't, but what it will do is look really pretty. That's about all unfortunately.  How much neg camber do you currently have? Generally lowing the car dials in quite a bit of neg camber as it is. If you do go down this path, your best bet is get adjustable arms, toe arms (or preferably a good HICAS elimination kit) and traction rods. With all 3 being adjustable, you'll be able to dial out any bump steer that is introduced by playing with the camber settings.
