Hypergear Turbochargers and High flow Services Development thread

Just realized they said there was boost control issues so I guess that would be affecting power up top a fair bit as well.

If it was holding boost to redline I still think itd be 250+

I wouldn't expect it to be hitting 270kw on 20 psi with a 15+ yr old motor.

Wait for the charts gentlemen, no point speculating over power figures or what's responsible for them until we see what the engine is doing. As JEZ said, there's probably a bit more in the turbo if they take the time to sort out boost etc. but for now Kasko should be pretty happy and he looks to be.

Very smooth. Boost tapering off = another 10-20 if you can get it to hold without the engine pinging?

Full boost looks like high 3000's / 4000rpm, I'm guessing.

Need ebc to hold boost up top. I'm testing a little mod this weekend and hopefully that changes the boost behavior up to.

Already got a profec b spec 2 installed in it

This didnt help with the tapper.

Seems the actuators are not up to holding the 20psi consistently

Also as DVS said it seems my clutch is either on its way out or needs a bit of adjusting/bleeding

The car feels phenomenal when it comes onto boost and spins 2nd without hesitation cruising.

Next step is a CAI and a box for the pod filter might help a little.

We did back to back power runs on a safer tune and only lost around 1-2kw

Is that same turbo you have birds?

Yeah man.

How bout that! :)

What size tyres you running?

Assuming it's 4.11 diff ratio and normalish sized tyres is nearly at full boost at 4000rpm with 180rwkw

Not exactly comparable with a GT-RS

180rwkw @ 4000rpm IS comparable to a GTRS, I agree.

Forget about where it hits full boost etc etc. The power @ RPM will tell you what its doing flow wise, which is what counts.

Every decent turbo makes 180-200rwkw at 4000rpm on a RB25... It can be a T67, 3071, 3076 or HKS 2835pros, they all do it

It's what happens before and after then that makes the turbos different!

Yeah, so doesnt a GTRS do roughly 180-200 @4000 and end up around 250 by 7000? LOL

So its more or less hitting GTRS benchmarks, OK glad we agree. :whistling:

If the turbo can hold boost for the upper RPM, there's no reason it can't make 260-270 IMO, so no it's not comparable to a GTRS...it's slightly better :P
