  1. I never park my skyline anywhere unless if I can see my car. I used to go to uni at UTS and know all too well about the cars stolen from the entertainment centre and market city. I knew of about 10 imports taken there over the 5 years I was at uni (and they were people from uni, so there were probably more than that). I'm even paranoid about my stagea daily.
  2. Almost nothing? $100? 200$?
  3. Hey pete I was just wondering. Is it possible to make the device reset the self learn mode - the closed loop running thingy?
  4. Maybe the turbo has blown? are you getting tonnes of smoke out the back?
  5. Sorry scathing, I must have been a bit unclear. I was really tired when I posted. Basically what I meant to say was, yes, definitely, it is good to get legal advise, then you have a certain answer. But what I meant, was that legal action does not always solve the problem in your favour. What you said is spot on the money. Cheers
  6. Hey guys I'm looking for an r32 wastegate actuator. I can be contacted by pm, or on 0403 211 482 (Chris). I have bought numerous of them before for around $15-20, and i'm willign to pay something reasonable around that. Cheers
  7. There are heaps of skylines in canada. Heaps and heaps and heaps. I dunno what shops you have over there, but you must be looking at the wrong wreckers.
  8. yeah, but then the cops will just come over and give you a $300 fine and 3 dem points for neg driving too.
  9. so NRMA will try and get the money from your GF. If they can't, then they'll just possess your car. So you might be saying bye to your new car. It's sad, but life is harsh. insurance is for those very reasons. What about if your gf wrote off a lambo or something? It's not only running into other cars. If she ran into a building, and if the car caught on fire and burnt down the building, you could be liable for 1mill+ Also, you'd think that wihtout insurance, she'd drive the car as if it was made of glass. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but we all do stupid things in life. I have done my share, and I just like to know what i'm in for.
  10. Also, I'd like to add, that people always go, oh, there's some issue, LEGAL ADVISE. like it's a magic solution. Think about it from a logical point of view. If you were to go to court, what would you be trying to achieve? e.g. your GF is obviously liable. obviously you won't argue that she's not liable. Once she's been proved liable, she will have to pay to fix the damage. Is the amount reasonable? arguably yes, because it's a bmw. parts are more expensive. so after admitting fault, there isn't really anything you can achieve.
  11. The BMW is not responsible for hitting the car in front! that only happens if the cars are moving, then it's his fault for not keeping enough gap. If the cars are stationary, nothing is happening. Your gf goes boom. she caused the damage to both. Although 12k does seem a bit much, it'd be difficult to not pay. See, the thing is, your gf did the damage. The guy got it fixed. I mean, the panel shop probably went oo, a bmw, lets reem the insurance company so they charged 12k. The difficulty is this. You are just a normal person. NRMA is a massive company. They'd be willing to fight you to the death for it. Can you afford legal advise? a good lawyer at 250+ an hour? Even if you win, you don't get all your costs back. You might just have to pay, and take it as a lesson learnt Lesson learnt: don't drive a car without insurance. Definitely, don't let a gf drive your car, especially if it deosn't have insurance.
  12. It depends what type of car it is. Skylines and other nice cars normally don't get returned. Shitboxes are generally just thrashed, then all of the coins, cds, maybe headunit, sunglasses, maybe wheels if it has any are taken. It's not that bad really. All the money she's saved in insurance over the years is probably worth more than the value of that thing, so you guys are ahead anyways. Shouldn't be expensive to buy those few parts from the wreckers if you wanna fix it.
