pushead, get a inline muffler put in between the cat and the rear muffler. Remember that the more mass you have in the exhaust, the more dampening it will have and the quieter it will be. But also, you can still get 3" centre mufflers that quieten the exhaust down a fair bit that flows well and doesn't rob power.

has anyone used any silencer for a Trust exhaust with 110-115mm tip? Wonder if APexi's silencer will bolt on as they both have the same tip size. About $100 though...

rs73: I have a trust exhaust with the silencer, it is a 4.5" tip; it only reduces the volume about 8-10dB... Any good exhaust shop should be able to make you a bolt in silencer (more or less exactly the same as the Apex'i ones) for no more than about 40 bucks. Try Daalder in Box Hill, ask for Matthew 9890 4444.

pushead: What i meant is a muffler that looks like this:

instead of just a hot-dog. It will quieten the exhaust down heaps. Again, go see Daalder.

Thx Ronin.

Will try him.

8-10db would be great, as to human ear, I heard every increase of around 3db would seem to sound twice as loud.

So to our ear, reducing 10db means only felt about 30% of the noise...

will this decrease the noise level having the dump/front pipe 3"?

i dont think it will increase the noise level possibly might make the sounds slightly deeper.

it didnt make mine any louder :) , but its louder now

I have 3" front pipe. Before I put it in, I only used 3" cat back. The noise gets slightly deeper, I agree, and may even sound like it's less noisy after I put in the front pipe.

nismoman18, that is a pic of Inark's exhaust.

Mine is below, and sits lower than legal even though my car is at stock ride height.
