R33 Gt25t Series 1 headlight maintenance

I guess alot of ppl might have this problem if your line is year 94 and below.Mine's a 93 and the headlights getting a bit yellowish.Just wondering how to make it white and shiny(like big red) again.

UAS sells a polishing kit for headlight plastic covers, make them shiny again. Mine still good haven't tried their stuff but some who did were happy.

The stuff from UAS dose a good job, I've used it on a few cars with no problems but someone once told me there was another product that was better and cheaper but can't theink of the name at the moment..

search the forums for 'headlight clean' or something... there was a thread floating around about using either 1. silvo (as it is a mild abrasive) then turtle wax.... or 2. BMW rear plastic window cleaner for convertibles...

Give the search a shot, it wouldn't have been more than a month ago i was reading it.

I do mine with turlte wax extreme, worked awesome but just make sure your polishing cloth hasn't got any grains of dirt/sand because otherwise you'll end up with scratches on your lenses.

Just a simple cutting compound will do the trick. No need for expensive plastic lense cleaners.

brasso metal polish works awesome on the headlights, yes its for metal but works nicely and isn't too harsh. Headlights look like new now...

Yeah I've used brasso, works well, just keep it away from the paintwork.

i've used tooth paste, its a super fine grade polish. then a bit of wax after.... just like new

how can u get inside?? or is all the dirt on the outside?? i had an accident and the light was replaced ... now one is "whiter" than the other ... how can i get inside to clean it??

hippy, you prolly got 2 different bulbs if 1 light was replaced

get yourself a new set of bulbs. Cant remember off hand which

type they are, H2 or H3 or something... search the forums

Repco sell em - Get the arctic blue ones, they are nice and bright

with a hint of blue. great for nights on open roads

here are some pics of mine, i tried toothpaste, colgate blue minty gel to be exact, hahaha, sounds very funny, and i got some wierd looks when i was putting toothpaste on my headlights
