Hi All,

I've had a few members ask me about the progress on my rb26/30 build for my R32GTR so i thought i'd add this thread.
I started my research back in late 08, got the ball rolling in feb 09 & after 4 months i have reached my destination with 350km on the clock. As they say, good things come to those who wait (i hope).

Here are my specs:

'NISSAN' rb30 block (note the word 'NISSAN' not holden or forklift hehe)
RB26 head porting by ProEngines (over 10 hours)
match ported exhaust manifolds by ProEngines
Garrett low mount -10's (combined rating @ 920hp)
RIPS custom sump (extended with baffles)
RIPS diff adapter plate
RIPS oil pick up
RIPS inspired modified catch can (return to sump)
JUN crank collar
ACL race bearing set
Cometic head gasket
Mahle piston & ring set
Argo rods
Camtech/Kelford billet cams (a bit of NZ flavour)
Performance valve springs (a bit of Aust flavour)
ARP main/head studs
N1 oil/water pump
HKS intercooler (120mm?)
Sard fpr
Bosch 044 lift pump with 2 external Bosch 044's & surge tank
PFI dual entry fuel rail (to accommodate larger 14mm entry injectors)
Delphi Rochester 1000cc injectors
Ross Metal Jacket harmonic balancer
OS Giken cam gears
Jim Berry 4000lbs race clutch (good timing whilst the engine was out, twin & triple plate was doing my head in)
Nismo engine/gearbox mount kit (good timing whilst the engine was out)
Blue silicone heater/intercooler/radiator hose kit (good timing whilst the engine was out)
52mm dual core alloy radiator
Power FC

My run-in tune results came to 270.9awkw @ 6500rpm on 10psi (cams are still set @ 0). My goal was to crack over 400awkw with strong midrange delivery, after i do my run-in km's with higher rev limit, boost & set cams im sure this will be achievable smile.gif

i am also contemplating with running E85, my tuner suggested "lets see what we get with 98 then make a decision"

Just a quick thanks for the following people who put me in the right direction & put up with my indecisive 'qualities':
RIPS (Rob Ward)
ProEngines (Greg)
Dirtgarage (Paul)
N1GTR (Steve)
CRD (Andrew & Jim)
maybe i've left a few others out...in fact, i bet i have smile.gif

regards,
Marko.

Marko, as always it has been a pleasure (albeit sometimes frustrating) assisting you with your package.

Time to enjoy...if want to put a few K's on it? come up to Newcastle and say g'day.

you hear good & bad with all clutches, however, based on pauls 470awkw drag car & 3 yrs of abuse it held up fine - apparently it is still 'alive' in his mates street car

if u drove a JB clutch u would be surprised, ive had an os giken triple & exedy twin which were both terrible (handbrake starts on hills in heavy traffic etc, you know the stuff that gets your heart pumping)

in fact i smashed 3rd gear in my other gtr which i think that triple plate was the root cause

hey nick - i had greg @ proengines build the long engine & i did the r&r (with workshop manual & correct torque settings)
that was fun although i must admit im nowhere near as fearful of the car though, the advantage of doing it yourself is taking the time & checking over everything, washing all the bits with a toothbrush

someone else i forgot to thank: Craved Coatings (Chris) for the top covers, intake paint & plenum powder coating smile.gif

Job well done - Looking forward to seeing what sort of numbers it produces once its run in and leaned on smile.gif

I am still searching for replacement GTR, apparently I am too picky as I haven't found a suitable base yet.

did you get the sprung center or solid center version of the jim berry clutch? i was very surprised by how easy mine is to use compared to other heavy duty singles/twins i have tried.

thanks - im driving it with the rev limit set @ 5000rpm sad.gif
i can honestly say though it feels very strong in midrange delivery even on 10psi, the -10's start spooling quite hard around 3000rpm (that extra 400cc has made a massive impact on turbo response)

they seem to come on earlier than my gtss setup on the rb26

Jim Berry clutch's are great. I had a Nismo GMAX Twin plate in my car and it died in 3 months. Put in a JB Full Monte Race Clutch and it has been the best clutch i have ever used, it feels light as stock and it has has put up with many slow rolling 30psi anti lag 3 gear drops and just asks for more.

Anthony Martook uses them in his race cars, results speak for themself.

Look at this youtube vid of one of those 375rwkw 3rd gear drops smile.gif

www.youtube.com/upyas

Anyone who talk shit about JB clutch's are idiots without a clue. rant.gif fin

f*ck off idiot...do i have to go into it...ok just for you.

Croydon Racing sponsored the car at the time...they wouldn't allow me to continue running a single plate with the power we were planning on running. They insisted i run at least a twin plate...it was something that was agreed was the best way to go.

Happy ?
