it isn't that spectacular. ken block does stuff like that all the time (if not more backwards), i've seen race car drivers get tagged and spun and do a full 360, gather it up just as they are getting back to the right direction and keep driving without losing too much speed (didn't come to a complete stop or anything like that).
look at this old video of ken block at around the 2:57 mark. he is sliding backwards http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkNzkutTiGs then there is that gif someone has as their avatar pic of the rally car sliding backwards for ages then makes the corner -------------------- |

it isn't that spectacular. ken block does stuff like that all the time (if not more backwards), i've seen race car drivers get tagged and spun and do a full 360, gather it up just as they are getting back to the right direction and keep driving without losing too much speed (didn't come to a complete stop or anything like that). look at this old video of ken block at around the 2:57 mark. he is sliding backwards http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkNzkutTiGs then there is that gif someone has as their avatar pic of the rally car sliding backwards for ages then makes the corner im sorry to bump, but people need to be educated, as what uve read here is utter ignorant garbage. firstly, 4wd and 2wd are different, weird huh? look at the basic physics and it will come to u, there are tonnes of drift 4wd's in europe (only place with 4wd drift comps - run parallel with RWD comps) which are able to get more angle than block. here's a vid that basically shows u the possibility of 4wd drift: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/sick-4-...ting_697817.htm note that basically regardless of the angle, they will always be able to pull it back, this takes the risk and skill out of big angle drifts. what happens is the front having power pulls the front around, simple as that, there is no real skill required to pull back a big angle drift, just keep on the power, and eventually the front drive will pull u back around. boring huh? yeh thats why 4wd drift is shit, and next to no one encourages it, not as a sport at least, it's good for some entertainment value from the crowd, but it is far from the skill involved in real drift. 2wd drift is a crazy mix of balance and adjustment which u simply cant understand until uve been at maximum angle enough times, and had to ride that line and eventually bring it back, and most importantly bringing it back without sacrificing speed, line, smoothness or momentum. this takes skill, and what u saw in that vid at the top of the page had tonnes of it. yes the video does look cool, but to someone who drifts them self and constantly pushes them self like that, it's a lot more as u understand exactly how awesome that drift is, he was able to pull back what looked like an impossible position for a 2wd drift car, but he did it without sacrificing anything, he flowed through the corner, he didn't slow the drift beyond what it needed to be to make the corner (call stalling the drift, ull see it a lot in the vid i posted). it's quite simply amazing, to call it not spectacular just shows how ignorant you are. -------------------- ![]() Jesse Streeter - Adelaide Tyrepower - Doyle Crash - Exhaust Tech. - Boostworx - AM Performance - 0401865373 QUOTE (blaq-boi) you have an r33... nothing you say means anything |
