I thought it was worthwhile consolidating all the Stagea brake stuff in one place.

Series 1
Front Pads - Bendix Premium 1398BP
The generic Bendix code is 1398, the last 2 digits are the pad type (BP = Bendix Premium).

There is an alternative being 1250, this pad is 14 mm thick and the 1398 is 15 mm thick. It seems 1398's are hard to get at times, so 1250 is a good alternative. I found a set of Lucas Premium pads in the 1250 part number. They are the TRW manufactured, European spec material, so they should be OK.

Front Disc Rotors - DBA 4909
These are the same as the S14 200SX
DBA have these in stock currently

Rear Pads - Bendix Advance 1144 or Ferodo XL 1144XL
As for the front, the generic Bendix code is 1144 the last 2 are the pad type.

Rear Disc Rotors - I am going to try DBA 4908 (R32GTR), modified by maching down the OD by 30mm, all of the other dimensions are the same. This is a rather drastic reduction, I will have to check them for cracking for a few weeks before I sign off on their suitability.
DBA has these rotors in stock currently.

Series 2
Front pads - Hitachi HP63H FF
The guys with S2's haven't found a Bendix equivalent yet, but I am sure they will post it up as soon as they do.

Front Disc Rotors - DBA 4963 (R33 GTST) modified by machining down the OD by 6mm, all of the other dimensions are the same. Unlike the Series 1, this is very minor machining, I would not expect any problems with this, we do it all the time on the race car rotors.
DBA have these in stock currently

Rear Pads - The generic Bendix code is 1399

Rear Disc Rotors - DBA 4908 (R32GTR), modified by maching down the OD by 5mm, all of the other dimensions are the same. Unlike the Series 1, this is very minor machining, I would not expect any problems with this, we do it all the time on the race car rotors.
DBA has these rotors in stock currently.

I will post up some pictures of the front rotors and the pad install as I proceed through it this weekend.

That's what I have for ours, but I haven't fitted them yet. I am waiting on pads, they should be here Monday. I will post it up and confirm that they fit only when I have actually fitted them.

PS; be careful DBA4909SL is left and DBA4909SR is right.

If anyone cares, DBA4909 are also be used on R32 GTSt. So it then follows that S1 stagea front discs are the same as R32 gtst discs. That might help if you are looking for cheap secondhand replacement discs.

Good news, DBA have made a batch of 4908, rear rotors. I will be picking them up tomorrow. I will machine them up next week and fit them the weekend after. Then post up some pictures.

When upgrading the rotors can you use the original calipers? If wanting to upgrade to new calipers any info?
SK did you by the DBA 4909 slotted or cross drilled from the 4000 series? Any pics installed?

Sorry just seen the photo of part number, SL SR so you got the slotted ones.

At the start of the year i bought DBA4909SR and SL rotors for $223 each inc GST. That was the best price i could get at the time, from ABS brakes.

Response to your questions follow;
1. Yes
2. Any R32/33/34 GTR callipers would fit, even Brembos
3. I never use cross drilled rotors, they always crack. (Yes, even Porsche ones)
4. No problem, once I have time to install them. Slight delay, no pads as yet.

I have tried everything I can think of to upload the brake pad and rear rotor pictures for this thread.

I can see my gallery
I can see the "upload" button when I am not logged in
But I can't upload because I am not logged in.
When I am logged in, I can't see the upload buttom

If I am doing something wrong please tell me. Or if I don't have permission to upload pictures anymore, then please tell me. If my gallery is full, then please tell me. This is very frustrating, and wastes a lot of time, time that I don't have to spare.

Well SK I have gone from the info you have given and it is spot on for the fronts I have just fitted the 4909SL/SR and the 1398AD Bendex pads to my S1 Stagea. It took me about 45 minutes. One tip is that you need a bolt to help remove the disc from the hub and as I didn't have one lying around that fit I used a bolt front the front seat mounting which fitted perfectly. I will bed the brakes in before check for brake fade. Haven't thought about the rears as yet.
