Hi Guys

Ive been looking into purchasing a new set of rims for my R33 s2 Sedan

I Have read alot on the forums and also used the Offset Calculator.

However I have been speaking to a few Wheel techs and they have advised that Sedan have LESS Clearance in the Rear End.

I have found a set of Volks im interested in purchasing but im unsure whether they would fit.

Size: 19x8.5" F / 19x9.5" R
Offset: +22 F / +22 R

how far do you think they are going to stick out?
It seems Fairly Aggressive

Any assistance!?

215's on the front and 225's on the rear, a roll and a slight pull on the guards and hey presto! the main issue here is them being 19", doesnt allow u to stretch the tyre into the guard as there is f**k all sidewall to angle in.

bah, looking at ur wheels looks a bit mexicana man, what tyres did u end up going with? hope u didnt end up getting 255's or something because a tyre shop said so. with the look u were going for u really needed to stretch the tyres to get them to slide inside the guard, if u wanted to go the bigger tyre i would have recommended a higher offset.

let me put it this way, it wont be impossible to make them fit, u just have to be willing to go a smaller tyre and get a bit of guard work, nothing drastic, mostly just a roll, rear may need some pulling depending on camber etc.

haha i know what its like, even in Adelaide, gotta take control with tyre shops otherwise they will fit u up with 165/55's on 14" steelies. just know that if ur after an agressive fitment be prepared to have to fiddle around with things, it doesnt always just fit straight away, saying that, a wheel that sits right up next to the guard rather than a wheel that sits deep in the guard will look 100 times better, even a 19" wheel.

I still have my money on them not fitting. Mine which are 18 x 10 +35 fit just a little outside and he wants 19" +22 9.5" wide, no way will they fit; that's GTR offset ain't it?

You're the expert so if you say they'll fit then I guess they will.

On the fronts i got 235s (mad stretch) and on the rear I got 265 and they're a little bit stretched but it still looks wild. The rears hardly ever scrub but the fronts do a bit.

If you know any 350Zs / V35s in your town with fat aftermarket wheels, they tend to fit 9.5" +22 rims on the front of their cars. See if you can borrow some to test fit.

Actually, those sizes look like V35/Z33 sizes, back when people thought you could only fit 8.5/9.5 on them without modifying the guards. You might even find an owner of a PM platform car that has those sizes.

Yes.. they will fit..

only questions left are;
How much neg chamber are you prepaired to dial in? and
Where to get the guards rolled and
How hektic can you go on the stretch?

If your hell bent on getting them in this offset and size.. (and beleive me.. they will look farkin wicked! Neg Camber.. and stretch.. and a solid offset) then thats whats needed

Bear in mind.. dialing in too much neg camber will lead to uneaven tyre wear.. but i suppose with the money your saving on getting narrower tyres you can spend on getting them just a little more frequently..

haha mm, i though u ended up going with a more agressive offset than that, owell probably a good thing in the end if u wanted to run big tyres.

his will be pushing with stock guards, but as i said, he will need to stretch the tyres a bit and the rear guard may need a pull as well as a roll. 235's on the 9.5" isnt much of a stretch, not sure what the tyre shop said, i run 225's comfortably on my 9.5" rims, a 215 on a 9.5" is more of a decent stretch. fitting a 9.5 +22 with a 225/45 tyre would actually be pretty easy, my main concern is being a 19" wheel, even though it will be the same amount of stretch, the angle will be sharper, like so:

the blue is a smaller wheel with a larger profile, and the red is a larger wheel with smaller profile but same size tread. the green is at sitting height, the yellow is on compression, the angle change in the 2 guards is due to dynamic camber, obviously in real life its the wheel/tyres angle that changes, but its easier to just show the guard changing angle.

as u can see the lesser angle of the sidewall on the tyre on the smaller wheel allows the guard to come down further, even though the offset, rims width and tread width are all the same. hence why its really hard to get agressive fitment on higher diametre wheels.
