I know how to set up read receipts through email, but I want to set it up so there is no way the receiving party can refuse to send the receipt back to me... Currently when someone receives an email from me they get the option to send a recipt or not... Is there any way I can make it compulsory?

There's no way you can force it as its at the discretion of the recipient's email program.
The h4x0r way of doing it used to be to use a web bug (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_bug) but since most emaillers dont load links by default anymore, that probably wont work either. If you have your own SMTP server you can verify that the mail has been delivered to the receiving gateway, but that doesnt really mean much, unless your getting the "i didnt receive it" line, in which case it helps a little... -------------------- "Behold, the dreamer cometh. i don't usually send emails with read receipts, but we are sending snail mail to 'anon' and they are claiming they aren't receiving it... registered post isn't working either, so i figured if we send an email with a forced read receipt, then i know they have receipved it and it will stand up in a court of law... won't go into detail, but it's for a legal case...

Weird,i thought i couldn't even read the email unless i clicked on the 'received' button.
Or on our fax,after i fax something to someone i get a printed report that states the fax number of the sender,receiver date and time and confirmation that the receivers fax received it. Or send it via courier so they have to sign for it. -------------------- F/S 1x used 32gtst smic $10
