QUOTE Obese people are contributing to the world food crisis and climate change, experts say. The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine calculated the obese consume 18% more calories than average. They are also responsible for using more fuel, which has an environmental impact and drives up food prices as transport and agriculture both use oil. HHhmmmmm:/ A bit out there I think, plenty of non-fat/obese/overweight people use more than they 'require' and the very term 'require' is a definition that can be streched to God knows and back... Fail.
According to this study I'm a major contributor, I eat more calories than an average person would (then again, how many calories does an average person consume?) I'm also significantly heavier than your average person haha....YET I am not obese. Also the usage of fuel could be largely determined by the vehicle you drive, real world application is not like a study where everyone drives the same vehicle, because only then does weight become a factor. An anorexic in a GTR will consume more fuel then a whale in an Echo. -------------------- ''Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.''

i was listening to a community radio station RTR 92.1 the other day and the announcer said that an important way to save to planet is make sure you have your tyres pumped up because the will improve the amount of fuel you use and therefore save the world from global warming

The fuel issue they refer to is: increased consumption (food) for an individual also puts extra load on the environment via an increase in fuel usage for manufacturing plastics, wrappers (made from oil) and added transportation for these "added" goods. Not really anything to do with what car they drive or the extra load that car carries...but I like your thinking Think about it..if our obesity rate is the second higest in the world it must be costing a $ or 2 -------------------- Scientists taught a monkey to type, I ask to what end?
If you can't understand a word that he writes. yeah cops are f**kheads all need running over and they dont have a clue what they are on about. and they say that they are illegal thats full of shit cause turbo cars come with them standard from the factory and they still make a noise. you up the boost a bit in them and they get loud so the cop was just being a asshole like they always are. and he FLOODY ya better open ya eyes to the cops man they do it all the time just to be a smart ass but surppose they wouldnt look at you in ya car seems ya drive like an old fart. QUOTE (then again, how many calories does an average person consume?) total number of calories divided by the number of people that eat those caleries =average/mean. 10000cal/5 people =2000 cal per person. that is the consumption for an average person. come on. basic maths dont get all philosphical and deep on me -------------------- QUOTE QUOTE(DAL32 @ Mar 23 2008, 06:55 PM) ![]() hi, i cannot think of anything witty or clever to say in rebuttal, so i will just correct your spelling/grammar, which will somehow result in what i am saying to be deemed correct. +1 post count FTW QUOTE QUOTE(BOOSTIN@ Sep 02 2008, 06:02 PM) when people say their skyline is stock. it means it has a pod, exhaust, boost controller and ricey goodness. that is 'skyline stock' |
