Imagine it is the year 2037 and the gold Coast is now the biggest man made reef in the southern hemisphere. The polar icecap is totaly gone making the Great Deviding Range the new coastline od the Eastern Seaboard. Welcome to Warwick Waters estate.

In reality, a town up stream on the Condamine River had about 250mm of rain yesterday and last night and is hitting Warwick tonight. I took some pics this arvo at about 6pm. We went for a drive 4 hours later and the water is now about 1/2 meter up on what is in the photos and still rising. I,m told the flood waters should peak early in the morning 1-4am as it takes abbout 20ish hours to get this far.

All bar 1 bridge can get you in or out of town. It is expected to go under at the peak of the flood. This one is well and truly gone.

There are ppl packing up and moving everything, sitting back with a stiff drink and waiting for the enivitable.
Out of shot is a suitcase in front of the scooter.

There is a huge granit frog in a park on the war into town. The water is easily to the top of most ppl's head here. Just had a look and the water is now at it's pupils.

This is the main bridge, it is expexted to go under, was getting close when we lookd last.

looking up stream in the middle of where the river normaly runs.

It was the first time the dogs had seen any real expanse of water. After seeing 2 other dogs running/swimming after a ball they decided it was alot of fun. before that they needed lots of encouragement to even get close.

the flood plains are huge, photos dont do justice.
